52 Finishes: Week 27- Mix N Match People Blocks

Back in April or something, I made these people blocks, I just couldn't share them then because they were for a contest.  I just stumbled across my pictures of them and thought I would share then now. They are a set of four blocks, consisting of heads, torsos, legs and feet.    You can mix and match them to create funny people.   They are sort of like paper dolls, but you just rotate the block.
We have a pirate and a teacher
 A rocker and a nurse
And a lawyer and hula girl

So we get a lawyer rocker nurse pirate person... or a pirate nurse hula rocker.  There are so many different possibilities, they are fun to play around with.

To make them, I drew the people. Then I painted them with water colors, scanned the pictures onto the computer.  Scaled them to the size I wanted, printed them off, cut them up and mod podged them onto the blocks.  Seems like a ton of work, but it was pretty fun and easy.  I never won the contest I submitted them to, and I really don't understand why not :)  To see my other finishes, click HERE

52 Finishes: Week 26 Newsboy Caps

I haven't crocheted in a while so it was fun to work on these two hats.  They have a cute chunky kind of stitch, and then with the added brim, they are adorable on children.  I made one for Jayne about 2 years ago, and loved it when she wore it.  I really should make her another one.  I still have the dark brown one, I'm going to list it in my etsy shop.  Its about a 3-6 month size.    To see my other finishes, click HERE. Can you believe it, I'm halfway done! Only 26 finishes to go...

October Pumpkins

October is officially here and in full swing, we kicked it off my going to a pumpkin patch.  I don't know what it is, but I LOVE pumpkins!  I just think they look so cute with kids.  Maybe cause they can weigh the same? The orange? The roundness? I dunno, I just love 'em
We went to a "u pick" pumpkin patch, they had a mini straw maze
 a barn
 a train
and tons of pumpkins to choose from
We went last year too, I think its gonna be a yearly thing

52 Finishes: Week 24- Pierrot Tunic Week 25- More slippers!

I was asked to test a pattern for Rae, as in Made by Rae. I made the 4T size for Jayne, its called the Pierrot Tunic (see more that Rae made HERE).  I'm sure it will be on the market within the next month. I thought it was a really good pattern, with only a few minor things I would change.  Jayne was being so funny when she was modeling it for me.  She's been cracking me up lately!
"Does this make me look so beautiful, mom?"
Last night I was taking a rest on the couch, and I needed to get up and get something for Jayne.  I was taking a little longer then she thought I should, and she said to me "Do you need to just need to chill out for a little bit longer?"
She's so curious about everything, and asks too many questions to keep up with.
I also made my sister a pair of slippers, I know I've made several pairs, but I have to count them as finishes cause they take me so long!  I'm such a slow knitter, it's not even funny, just a shame.  Maybe I'll get faster with practice, but probably not :)

Daddy's helper

Max Loves Darick.  He loves to be anywhere is daddy is, so when Darick it doing the dishes, Max like to help.  He pushes the Dog food bucket up to the sink to help with dishes.
And when Darick was taking out the trash, Max was right there to help do some heavy lifting.
In Darick's words "I can't help that our kids love me, I'm awesome." He is a great dad.

Ryan Shupe and the rubber Band

Back in September Darick and I went to Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband with some friends.  We've gone every year since we started dating.  They are such a fun band to see live, and they have awesome music.  They've been around since like 1998 or something.  really, they are awesome.

They don't just hang out at their mikes, they run around the stage a play.  They have some pretty sweet dance moves, and they are just entertaining to watch.
These two have known each other since they were like 8.  You can tell they are friends too.
They know how to play multiple instruments too, and sometimes they will help each other play.
They really put on a great show.  Even though I have seen them lots of times, they always surprise me.  They make me laugh.  If you ever get the chance to see them live, definitely go.  If you can't they have some Cd's that are worth buying.  They are SO good!

26 weeks

*The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before.
*He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs.
*And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches from head to heel.

Did you all forget I was pregnant?  I didn't :)  That may be cause I've got this belly and baby moving all the time.  He's pretty active.  He moves all the time, there's really not a time of day where he's the most active, it is literally all the time.   I had a doctor's appointment today and they did an ultrasound just to take a peek at the baby, cause we were in the room anyway.  As soon as she put the wand on my tummy, the midwife was like "oh there's a penis" (haha, can I say that on my blog?!)  So we are for sure having a boy.  I like that we know, I don't do well with surprises, they drive me crazy!  Some things I really like right now are apples and peanut butter, pebbled ice, naps and candy.  Although I love candy anyway so I don't know if that's a pregnancy thing??  If this baby is at all like Jayne or Max then I have roughly 12 weeks left.  They were both born at 38 weeks.... I guess only time will tell!. I'm also going to try out hypnobithing this time, basically its all about breathing and relaxing.  I feel good about it.   Classes start in a couple weeks, so that's something to look forward to.  Time just seems to be flying by!
