Max'sFirst Birthday Celebration

On Saturday we had a some family and friends over to help us celebrate Max's Birthday. We had pizza and cupcakes. It was fun. The only sad thing is, Max had a fever (for like 3 days) and his top gums are all red and swollen. Poor baby. So he didn't have the best time. He enjoyed his pizza and cupcake, but his heart wasn't all the way in it. Its ok to cry on your birthday right?
I made his party hat using THIS pattern.  I'm going to make us all one for our birthdays so we can wear them every birthday.  I think it will be fun, and cute!
Some Birthday love
This is how Max was every time he wasn't being cuddled. I'll admit, I thought he was super cute-though sad.
I made Max's birthday shirt as well.  It has two cars on the front, with button tires. And an 01 on the back.  Then, just so there is no confusion, I put his name on it :)
Here he is, ready for a nap :)
Remember THIS contest? Well, I got third place!

Happy Birthday Max!!

You're been the love of my life since the day you were born Mister!  When I first saw you, I thought you were everything; chubby, blond, rosie, cuddly and perfect.  You've been our MR.  You love milk, and getting into trouble.  You get sad when we tell you no, and like to snuggle your blanket.  You love your morning dose of Cheerios, and watching TV late at night.  You giggle when we chase you, crawl with your head looking down, and run into things.  You love to stand under the table, and play in the bedroom with Jayne.  The kitchen fascinates you, and so do computer cords.  You love to yell happily.  When you're sad, my heart breaks.  I love your little voice, and how you babble.  You stand  whenever possible, and are so proud of your accomplishments.  We love you Mister Max, our baby boy!

11 1/2 Months

Our little man is growing up!  He's almost a year old. It seems like he just joined our family, and also that we've had him forever.  He crawls really fast, bobbing his head and making little grunts.  He still only has two teeth on the bottom, but one of his top front teeth has popped through.  The other one will be through next week I think.
Max LOVES dry cereal.  He's learning how to drink out of a sippy cup.  He loves to pull himself up on everything.  When he sees you come into the room, he crawls up to you til his head bumps into you, then he pulls on your pant legs.  Max loves to jabber nonsense and "yell" at Jayne to get her to play with him.  He also loves to follow Jayne into her room to play.  He's pretty great at opening drawers and cupboards, and loves to "get in trouble."  He just laughs when you move him, and does it again- so naughty!
Oh we love our Mister!

Facts

Max is 9mo. old. He does this kind of "walrus" crawl. He lifts himself up into a cobra pose, then he falls forward. He recently sprouted 2 teeth (2 days before Christmas). He still won't eat real food. He likes dry things, like crackers, puffs, cereal, bread... but if it has any moisture, he tolerates about one bite. Then he realizes what you are doing and clamps his mouth shut. He won't take a bottle, but occasionally will drink from a sippy cup. On a slightly related note, Max bit me on New Years Day. One more bite from him, and he can pretty much count on a bottle from now on, like it or not :)
Here are some funny things Jayne has said lately. She is HILARIOUS!
She had her first dentist appointment last week. I was telling her hbow fun it is to go to the dentist and how they tickle your teeth, and its pretty much the best place on the planet (lie? maybe...) She asked me what the dentists name was and I said "doctor... hm. I can't remember" she said "lets call him Dr. Goose" I told her that was a good idea and then she stared laughing really hard. then she said "Dr. Goose, that's really silly. Why would his mom name him that?!"
(The next day at the dentists, she called the dentist Dr. Goose, and he told her his name was Dr. Cooper... she started laughing and told him it was goose, and he was too embaressed so he goes by Cooper. So funny!)
I was putting away all the Christmas decorations and Jayne was watching me. She say me putting away one of my Nativities and she shouted, "Goodnight baby Jesus, you can have cuddles with the cow until we wake you up next year!"

Rubba Dub Dub

IMG_4911 During Thanksgiving, Max got to play with his cousin Kimble.  That’s the great thing about having family around, there are always plenty of friends (what Jayne calls her cousins) to play with, doesn’t matter what age you are.  And who can resist  a couple of cute tubbin’ boys. (Max- 8mo. Kimble- 1yr.)

Sitting Up

Max will be 8 mo. old on the 24th (oh how time flies!). He only just barely started sitting up on his own, without assistance or the need for pillows to be placed all around him. Sure he has times where he falls over reaching for toys, but that's what crawling is for! Oh, crawling?! Max isn't anywhere near it... he just whimpers a little, and Jayne takes pity on him and brings him a toy and gives him a little kiss. Other interesting facts.... Max will eat "puffs" and Cheerios... but wants NOTHING to do with baby food or bottles. So he's still pretty dependent on me. But I don't really mind, it just keeps him my baby longer. Also he sleeps through the night (since he was 2 mo.), takes 2-3 naps a day, loves to watch Jayne, loves any blanket (no favorites yet) gets really giggly at night, yells if he thinks he's being ignored, and is a cuddle muffin. He doesn't have any teeth (yay!) He loves to sit in his high chair and watch everything. He loves to look out the window. He loves to cuddle, but won't sleep unless he's in his bed. He also loves bathes and gets super excited anytime you look at him. We call him Max, Mr. and brother...we love our little (big!) boy!

Family Pictures 2010

We had our pictures taken at the end of October, by Sarah Turner.  She is so amazing and patient.  I love her!  I love how she just captures moments.  Life isn’t always “look at the camera and smile!”  Sarah is pretty much amazing!  She’s a great photographer, but she’s also a great friend! 57249_10150299843640032_118402155031_15701487_7374702_o 53539_10150299843715032_118402155031_15701488_7759075_o55498_10150299843220032_118402155031_15701481_5722047_o53058_10150299843405032_118402155031_15701483_7884542_o52157_10150299844220032_118402155031_15701494_6250013_o   54490_10150299843100032_118402155031_15701478_2952490_o 54922_10150299843190032_118402155031_15701479_1032850_o  56601_10150299843070032_118402155031_15701477_707536_o

Mister.. Brother... Little man... Darling... Max

IMG_4864

Max is now 7 mo. old He's getting pretty big, but I think he's starting to thin out. He's getting to be so tall. He still has some pretty serious leg rolls.. and I hope they don't disappear too fast. Jayne had rolls until she started crawling, then she turned into a little bean pole. Max loves to talk, he does this hissing thing when he's really happy. He has quite a loud voice, you almost don't expect it. He says AHHHHHHHHHHH a lot, as wall as DADADADADA (high pitch) and guh ga guh dad guh, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. uhhhhhh. uh dad (I don't think he's actually saying dad, just making noise) Max can roll over, but only if you aren't looking. He pushes off of you to reach things, but usually fails. He does not crawl or even try to get into the crawling position. He also hardly stands. He loves to just sit and watch Jayne play (and yell at her if he feels like he's being ignored) He will occasionally eat cheerios, but he mostly blows them out. He will not take a bottle (absolutely refuses) and he gags and throws up anytime he is offered baby food. Max is super cuddly and we all love him so much!

Grossed out, not for the faint of heart

The Little Man was snorting a ton this morning, I was just about to get the snot sucker when his breathing became clear and uninhibited. I looked over at him and holy cow, discovered the largest booger ball ever. Max was happy as a clam, smiling and cooing. I think he was just relieved that he no longer had this huge mass blocking his breathing. Sorry folks, but it had to be documented. I'm both fascinated and disgusted, someday he'll thank me for this... or maybe not.
PS- This obstruction actually came out of his right nostril, but slid down to his left while I was getting the camera, are you grossed out yet? Me too
