Max Turns 3

We celebrated Max's birthday in Arizona.  We went to Darick's sister Anna's house. She made Max an awesome Train cake.
He got some more trains, some blocks, and some little finger flashlights.
He had a great time, and loves that he is three!

Jayne turns 5

Well,we have a 5!!! year old.
Jayne loves writing letterns to grandma and grandpa.  She loves to color, jump on the tramp.  She also likes to dig in the dirt and trick the boys into playing girl games (like lets play "dark ponies" or house and then a bad guy breaks in and we have to fight him).  Jayne is full of spunk and she is such a good girl.  She takes care of her brothers and we love her!

Here are some funny things she said lately...
"Mom we can hold hands cause we're friends"
"Mom I have a headache in my face, I have a face ache"
"I haven't had munch (lunch) for 6 years!"
"hey, you was squishing my heart, and now my heart is breaking" (in response to being given a big hug)
she tells a story and then turns to darick or me and says "right mom?" or "huh dad?"
"oh dear!"
"oh my goodness!"

52 Finishes: Week 33- Chevron Baby Blanket

I started on this blanket the second week of October.  I was working on it like mad, and was totally in a groove.  Then November hit.  I got super busy with other projects, and just didn't have a ton of time to knit.  I wanted to get the blanket done before Charlie arrived, which is why I started on it in October.  Well, December arrived and the blanket still wasn't done!  I started working on it more, determined to finish it.  I still had a load of other things I was doing.  December is sort of a blurry.  It was just a crazy busy month!  On Christmas Eve, I had about 10 more rows to do before I finished, so I made myself sit and knit til it was DONE.  I'm glad I did because I love that it is finished and Charlie sleeps with it every night (cause I wrap him up in it- maybe someday he'll choose to sleep with it?!)  This is my first BIG knitting project, and also the biggest thing I've  made out of yarn.  It's cool to think that I fabricated this blanket one stitch at a time! (It makes me feel like a super hero or something :)  Someday I'll knit really fast like my sister, I don't know how she does it!
The pattern is free, and found HERE
The yarn is a wool/poly blend.  It's yarn made to be made into blakets.  I love it, so soft, lofty and cushy!
Charlie likes it too.... I think- he didn't exactly tell me :)

Carpenter Reunion: Jayne turns 4!

While we were at Darick's family reunion, Jayne turned 4! It was exciting. Since Max had his Birthday last March, Jayne has been dreaming of her birthday.  She had a list of things she really wanted, including a long neck dinosaur, a (NEW) doll house, and a water bottle she talked about them for months!  Darick's sister, Anna, made Jayne's birthday cake.  she did an awesome job.
Jayne was so excited, every time she would lift her arms up, all her cousins would cheer.  Jayne would just giggle.
Then it was time to blow out her candles, the kids had cupcakes, and the adults had the cake, it was really yummy!
Here's Anna with her sweet creation.  she's an amazing cake decorator, check out some of her cakes here
Jayne's other request was balloons, and when a birthday girl wants balloons, she should get them :)
She got some really great things, including a doll house, creatures for her doll house, a dinosaur, some beads, a zuzu pet, and some puzzle games
We love you Birthday girl!!

Party like its your Birthday

Jayne and Darick both had their birthdays this past week. Jayne has never fallen asleep doing anything, like eating spaghetti, or playing with her blocks, and I have always wanted to see her do this, so we let her stay up until she fell asleep. She wanted to watch Bolt with Darick, and didn't last very long. So maybe she'll fall sleep playing some other time....

Darick turned 31, and he's still the cutest guy I know
I love by birthday babes!
