Did she just say that? (Warning! Profanity)

Today I was in my child development class, and I’m totally giving an awesome lesson (even if I don't like the subject matter-Shaken Baby Syndrome). So everyone is paying attention, asking questions- they are totally involved. Then we start to talk about who you let watch your kids, and how you want to screen your baby "SHITTER" that’s right, I said that word instead of sitter. Then there was this pause and everyone (including me) just started laughing (at a very serious subject matter). So now everyone keeps telling me to watch my language and stuff. What a day- I guess I just needed to lighten up the mood.

Doodle it Monday... in living color!

When i was in high school, i have to say it, i was AWESOME at the art of "locker signs." these were colored pieces of paper that my friends and i put on our lockers. Mostly they would have our names on them. i was really good at these, and everyone who was anyone had a locker sign made by me. Now saying that, i find myself in high school again. in my class i had a contest, and i needed a prize for the winner. i thought about it, and finally decided to break out the good ol' markers and make a "locker sign" for my winning students. so i will count your suggestions for next week's doodles... and please accept these locker signs as this week's work:)

If you can't stand the heat...

I am now teaching all the classes for student teaching, right now I'm teaching about newborns (makes me want another baby really bad) and the principles of design, it's fun, and i think the students like me. if not- sucks to be them because they have me until April:) my week goes by so fast that by the time it's Friday, i think "SHOOT! i haven't blogged anything since Monday!" and since doodling is not the only thing i do, i figured i better get a posts in before tomorrow's doodle.

well, it's been a crazy week...
this weekend i went food shopping (something i have not done for several weeks) and i bought a ton of food, the scratch kind, no boxed meals this week. then i was feeling inspired and decided to make a bunch of freezer meals. i made manicotti, lasagna, beef stew, chicken noodle soup, taco mix, spaghetti sauce, beef enchiladas, fajita mix, chicken enchiladas, chicken taco mix, calzones, pizza, and wheat bread dough... and all of them are Xs 2 because i made enough for two meals.

and today we had Indian fry bread (this is also called sophapillas, scones, and Navajo tacos) i like it with butter and honey mmmmmmmmmmm, and darick had his with maple syrup (i know it sounds gross, but when you think about it you kinda wanna try it huh?) his mom made them for breakfast when he was growing up. these are also great with cinnamon sugar, and make great companions to chili. here's a sweet pic (i got like 6 of these plates from D.I.- i love 'em) Jayners was helping with all the cookin'

Doodle It Monday

Well, its another Monday, my how these weeks are flying! This is my fifth week of doodles, and i gotta say i almost gave it up. but many of you said you liked my doodles, so i will keep doing it, if you keep suggesting. Since i did a family doodle last week, "the grand kids" will have to wait. i hafta mix it up a little bit. i don't want to overwhelm the world with the Weber offspring:) however, i can't completely get away from doodling family members, they are my best subjects! So i give you this week's doodle.... it's my sista Shaina bowling. which is funny since the monthly girls night out was bowling... read about it here.

We Are!

First day of student teaching

Well, I started school today. I dropped my little Jayners off, parked in the snow, and trudged inside to high school. As I was walking down the hallway, I saw the students, and for a second, I was like "I don't wanna do this!" and then I walked into the classroom that is to be my home for the next 3 months and two weeks, and I was like "JUST DO IT!" and the day turned out pretty great. I will start actually teaching in a week, and i start with Fashion design and apparel. Right now I am observing and learning names. I think it will be a fun semester. I'll keep you posted! Go Tigers....

Doodle it Monday

This week's doodle was suggested by shavonne, there were some really good ideas though. I can't wait to doodle them all, so keep on suggesting! Jayners got a hold on my doodle and ran away with it, so it has that krinkle spot, and i didn't have very good lighting, but i still think it's cute. My favorite part is the two little mice by Noah's feet, and the Goldfish in the bowl by the zebras. haha! so here it is...

First day of nursery

Jayners started Nursery yesterday. She was so cute, she just ran in and started playing. The nursery leader kept coming up to me and telling me how cute she was. She only had one "moment" and it was because they were talking about being a family in heaven and they said "daddy" and jayne just melted and kept saying "da, da, da." but she got over it really fast (i'm sure some more crackers were involved) Here is a picture of her wearing her crown, because she's the daughter of a king

My mom is the best. What a lady! She has 10 kids, and 24 grandkids (12 girls, 12 boys), and a husband (my daddy) and a kitty. And through all this she has been able to be one of the most patient people i know. Yes i can think of times when i got on her nerves, but over-all, i probably got what i deserved:)

Mom loves family, genealogy, service, beef jerky (remember that time...), naps (i think she is where i get my love of sleep from-as well as many of my siblings. ) food storage, sewing, novels, and survivor.

My momma has such a pretty voice, and sometimes she would wake us up by singing (at the time i don't think i really liked it, but now i do.) she also used to sing to our birds, and she hums when we cuddle.

My mom was the first lady who introduced me to sewing. She is creative (even if she says she's not) and she has some really sweet skills.

I have to say it, my mom's the best!
