Dress Pattern

(this is not one i made, i just think its a cute pattern, and easy... you can do it!)

This is a really cute dress pattern:

You will need:

♥ About 0.5m of pretty fabric of your choice (I like using light cotton fabric)

♥ about 2.5m of bias binding

♥ matching thread

♥ 2 wooden beads

1. Cut two pieces from your fabric and place them right sides together. Pin if you want - I admit I am a lazy seamstress so if I can get away with it I don't...

2. Stitch down each side of the dress. Iron the seams open.

3. Sew bias binding around the bottom hem, and the armholes.

4. At the top (on both front and back) fold down 5mm and iron. Then fold down a further 10-12mm and iron. Stitch to make a casing.

5. Take about 1m of bias binding, fold in half and stitch along the entire length to make ties.

6. Use a safety pin to thread the ties through the casings. Thread one wooden bead onto each end of the ties and knot to secure. Tie a bow - and you're done!

Darick's Family

we went to washington last weekend to visit family. darick's sister came from north carolina so we decicded we could drive 10 hours to see her.

here's is just daricks fam, three of the kids are missing... they were dropping bonnie in this pic. it was really funny to watch, they were playing like she was gonna drop and then she actually did

here is jayne with her cousins, they're just cute kids.... totally chatty Patty's, it's so funny because they talk faster the more excited they are, and they have as ton to say. i also think jayne looks really cute

we tie-dyed shirts for the kids, it was a fun little activity and they turned out really cute.

it makes me really excited for my family reunion because we're tie-dying shirts too.... it's gonna be great

ps- we also stopped in spokane and stayed with shavonne, my sister, and met my little brother's new girlfriend (she's really nice and super cute) but i didn't have our camera so i didn't get any pics... but i figured we're having our reunion in about a week (so excited) so i'll post then with some super sweet pics... IT"S GONNA BE GREAT!! (the reunion catch phrase)

a jacket for lizzie

For my pile (any "fuzzy kind of fabric... like corduroy, suede, fleece, velvet) project i made a coat for my niece Lizzie. she turned 12 in may. i just decided that she might like a little jacket made just for her, i hope it fits. i worry that it will be to small, but i can make a bigger one later if i need to. so here's to you Lizzie...the frontthe back
